Welcome to Yate Parish

We are four churches with a rich but different history. From the doomsday book to the present day we sit at the heart of the community both geographically and in our care of the community in Yate Town and the villages of Westerleigh and Wapley.

The Yate PCC (Parochial Church Council) is a charity no 1133980 is set up to promote and resource parishioners in the participation and growth in all aspects of Christian life. It is responsible for management, finance and buildings for the 4 churches in the parish, including St James, Westerleigh. The PCC holds an annual general meeting (APCM) generally in April.

St James, Westerleigh DCC (District Church Council) is a sub-committee of the PCC. It organises local matters including social events, building maintenance and the organisation of church services. It meets four times per year and holds an annual general meeting (ADCM) in March or April. Members of the DCC include the Health and Safety Officer, the Safeguarding Officer, the Finance Officer, Churchwardens and some members of the congregation, all representing St James.
